The National Council of Educational Research and Training has released the official notification for the prestigious National Talent Search Examination 2018. NCERT announced the application form submissions dates & examination dates for NTSE Stage 1 and NTSE Stage 2 examinations. The Stage 1 examination are scheduled to be held on 4th, 5th November 2017, across various states of country. The Stage 2 examination will be held on 13th May 2018 (Sunday).
Scholarship : About 1000 scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows.
1. Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for class XI and XII
2. Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for undergraduates and post-graduates
3. Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
Reservation: 15% for students belonging to the SC Category , 7.5% for the students of ST Category & 4% for the physically challenged group of students.
Eligibility Criteria : all the students of class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage-1 exam, conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction. Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of the particular year), the student is not employed and she/he is appearing in class X examination for the first time.

The Stage 1 will be conducted by the state boards of the respective states/ Union Territories, in which the students studying in Class 10th will be eligible to appear.
The pattern of the paper would be the same as the previous year comprising of 3 sections namely Mental Ability test (MAT), Language Test (LT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
