NTSE Stage I Result 2021- Directorate of Education, Delhi, declared Delhi NTSE Stage-I Result 2021 on 13/08/2021. The NTSE examination was held on 13/12/2020. A total of 141 students from various categories have been qualified for the NTSE Stage-II exam.

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national-level scholarship program (Exam). The eligibility for the examination is class X appearing student.

Based on the National Talent Search Examination, students are awarded scholarships. The amount of scholarship for Class-XI to XII is Rs. 1250/- per month. For Undergraduates and Post-graduates, the scholarship is Rs.2000/- per month. The amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is in accordance with the UGC norms.

There is a two-stage selection process for the award of scholarship. For NTSE Stage-I, Selection is made by States/UTs through a written examination. Students who qualify for Stage- I are eligible to appear for the Stage-II examination.

NTSE_Online_test-Series_ALLEN_kota-ALLEN_CAREER_Instittue_kotaThe Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Delhi has announced dates for exams for granting various scholarships to the students at various levels in their education cycle. These tests were envisaged by the DTE to ensure that more and more students can pursue higher education and pursue careers of their choice. We will discuss the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) here.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) conducts the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE). The purpose of the NTSE is to award talented students in the form of scholarships in the form of a monthly stipend of Rs. 500 and the total number of scholarships available is about 1000. The NTSE scholarship scheme covers academic areas in science, social science,engineering and medicine.

Students pursuing Science & Social Science subjects are awarded scholarships up to Ph. D level. Students pursuing professional courses like engineering and medicine are also eligible for the NTSE scholarship op to the PG level. Students in class X are eligible to appear for the Stage I exam conducted by states and union territories. 15% of the NTSE scholarships are reserved for SC, 7.5% for ST students and 3% for Differently-abled persons.

Eligibility criteria to take the NTSE:

  • 60% in class IX for general category and 55 percent marks for reserved categories irrespective of the income of parents

Application procedure for NTSE scholarships:

    • Contact the state/union territory liaison officer to obtain the application form or download it from thofficial NCERT website
    • The application form should be signed by the school principal
    • Stage I: written test across states and universities (results announced by states/ UT)
    • Stage II: subject to passing Stage I exam. Stage II exam is conducted on a national level (results announced by NCERT)
    • NRI students may appear for Stage II exam directly (please check the official website for terms and conditions). However, the application form should be sent with the mark sheet photocopy of the previous exam by March of the year of the exam.

Note* – Every state has a pre-defined quota to recommend students for Stage II. There is no quota after that.

NTSE exam pattern:

  • Stage I examination: a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
  • Stage II examination: a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
