NTSE 2021 : Official Notification released by NCERT, Check Exam Dates, Pattern & Scholarship Details

The National Talent Search Examination for students studying in Class X is meant to identify and nurture talent. The examination is conducted every year at two levels:

Stage-1 (State level)

tage-2 (National Level)

NTSE Scholarship: About two thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:

  1. Scholarship of Rs. 1250/ per month for class XI to XII
  2. Scholarship of Rs. 2000/ per month for undergraduates and Post-graduates.
  3. Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. is fixed in accordance with UGC norms.

NTSE Selection Process : Stage-1 Selection will be done by State/UTs and those who are selected/recommended from Stage-1 examination, will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination conducted by NCERT.

NTSE Qualifying Marks: Qualifying marks for candidates from SC/ST/PH category is 32% in each paper and for others (General/OBC & EWS) categories it is 40% in each paper.

Stage-2 (National) Examination in all States and Union Territories 13th June, 2021 (Sunday)

 

NTSE Eligibility: Students studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the Stage -1 exam conducted by the States/UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Students who are registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for scholarship, provided the student is below the age of 18 ( as on July 1, of the appearing year), the student is not employed and is appearing in Class X exam for the first time.

NTSE Paper Pattern : Pattern of the written exam will be as follows:

If there is any change in the pattern of Stage-2 examination then the same will be communicated later on through NCERT website www.ncert.nic.in. Candidates are advised to keep track of updates here on NTSEHelpline

NTSE Application Process : You may contact the State/UT Liaison officer for procuring application form.

The completed application form should be signed by the principal of the school must adhere to the last date of submission of the Application Form. Different states many have different last dates for submission. Please confirm from the Liaison officer of your state, the address at which the completed forms are to be submitted. NTSE Form Fees : States and Union Territories may notify the fee required which will be paid for the Stage-1 examination. Therefore, before submitting the application form, you may find out the fees charged for stage-1 Examination and also the mode of payment from the respective state liaison officers However, NCERT does not charge any fee for Stage-II Examination
